Words matter. I had a discussion on another board about terminology...

re: the terms baby vs fetus. He is one of those who insists that abortion is "killing a baby." I took exception to that and he insisted that his terminology was more correct than mine. So, I looked it up and typed this for him.

There is definitely some preference going on as to your choice of words. You're choosing words designed to cause the most emotional appeal to the listener. I choose words that are closest to medical usage.

embryo, fetus, newborn baby. Medically, it is a fetus from about 11 weeks until birth, when it enters the neonatal stage, a baby.

Terms like "murder" or even "baby" are used for emotional impact, not accuracy.

I doubt he'll read the article I linked, but there it is. I bolded the last line here, not there, but I thought it was important to state that out loud, so to speak.

Those are the two sides. Pro-CHOICE, Anti-CHOICE.

The pro-choice side is not pushing abortions on anyone. They are about access to the procedure for those who want it and need it.

The anti-choice side is about imposing their own views on everyone.

The pro-lifets will be insisting people must say, "I have a baby" at conception instead of, "I am having a baby" when you are pregnant.

Ask him for the 'baby's' name and SSN.

Can it be claimed as a dependent on taxes?

just arguments for the sake of arguing.
A car is also a vehicle. It is also a personal conveyance. It's a lot of things that all mean the same thing when it comes right down to it.
I am a human, and a person, and a boomer, and a man, and a male, all meaning the same basic thing.
There are probably more fulfilling things to argue about.

It all comes down to a woman's right to bodily autonomy.

You could say "Baby, Fetus, Giraffe... all irrelevant because the woman calls the shots."
