America marches onward, pretending that nothing has changed and nothing is different. Republicans are not only a legitimate political Party, they are favored to win the House and possibly the Senate in the next election. Donald Trump has done nothing that would disqualify him from being the front-runner of his Party. We pretend that nothing has happened that would in any way change the status quo.

Because we are comfortable with the status quo and like water, we take the path of least resistance when running downhill. We disregard the rock slides and the fallen trees. We just go around them as if they didn't exist.

There is nothing that has happened that would prevent the media from reporting on election politics just as they have always done in the past. Everything is normal. Both sides are still raising money. Both sides are competing for the attention of voters. Uncomfortable truths are swept under the rug, hopefully never to be discussed.

The truth is, nothing is normal.

And then offers to forgive the remaining loan portions...after the election of course. All Dems would get voted back in and more would find themselves in Congress.

Since Russia and the GOP accuse the Dems of just giving out free stuff anyway, let's embrace it. Let's do it to get votes. Yeah, the filthy rich will scream but the Dems would get lots and lots of votes. And lots and lots of one time contributions from the masses.

The Dems would be showing their hand by actually cutting out a huge burden on the poor and middle class. So, then when the Dems threaten to forgive ALL student loans, students and graduates would believe them and vote for them.

Students and the young are the least likely to vote. So give them something to vote for.

This would guarantee their reelection. How can the Dems not see it? It's just so obvious.

The GOPers would do it and did do it with their tax giveaway to the filthy rich. It's about time the Dems started playing hard ball too.
