and my bag has never been picked up. I don't know why that is, but I'm not going to bother this year if my local PO isn't participating - which seems to be the case.

I don't bother collecting and putting anything out anymore because they just leave it, they're not interested in collecting it.

Our food banks prefer cash so they can cut deals with grocery suppliers. I suspect the postal workers who have to deal with the cans will thank you.

I figure they can use the funds directly sent better than cans and boxes of food that have been out in the sun or rain for hours.
