I heard a conversation on Morning Joe this am and Joe was saying that Democrats should just point out all the crazy stuff they say and do. He mentioned the "space lasers" as an example.
No doubt, there is a lot of material there for a comedian.
But would it work as a political issue?

are in ads perhaps. I think while we don't run on January 6th...there should be lots of videos of these traitors aired during the midterm. This isn't complicated.

(21,385 posts)but Democrats need to push the fact that the Putin party wants to end our democracy. I ask my Magat friends if they believe they will have more freedom living in a Russia-type dictatorship?
Democrats are the party defending our democracy, defending our Constitution while the Putin party wants to abolish democracy.
Minority rule cannot exist in a democracy.
Yes, we run on Roe because that is defending democracy and the rule of law.

But, believe hightlighting the crazy does impact a few percentage points of swing voters. That's all it takes in many cases, nowadays.

(16,851 posts)Ridicule can be an effective weapon. That's more or less what Limbaugh did to Democrats. He focused on little things and exaggerated Democratic positions on issues. Al Franken is good at doing that sort of thing to Republicans. We should exploit the fact that they have no ideas to solve the country's problems. Their answer to everything is picking on women and minorities and tax cuts for rich people.

(12,438 posts)Like when one says Alito's opinion opens the door to other attacks on privacy and bodily autonomy and someone counters with something like "C'mon, Republicans won't have forced organ donations" that's when you play the crazy card, to emphasize that they have no restraint on anything, that all the norms we take for granted could just disappear.
