(6,196 posts)And that tyranny is the friend of the Republican Party.
It's hard to see the difference between the Republican plan for America and the Russian plan for Ukraine.
It's hard to see the difference between Putin's Russia, and the Republican plan for Trump's America.
That's because there really isn't a difference.

(471 posts)... wonder what the price tag is for a rather dimwitted congressperson to say such things....
... also wonder if a senator costs more than a representative....

(2,218 posts)He really shouldn't be bringing up crippling debt, inflation or immigration, since Republican policies and the tax breaks to the wealthy caused the debt.
His side has shielded the wealthy so they could enjoy the benefits of inflation, which only help his masters.
And immigration helps us and no the worst people and rapists are not the ones coming in against Conservatives wishes. Our worst people sit on the Republican side of the isle or have the ability to buy their way into our country. These are the ones that look the other way when actual pedo's and rapists are at work.

(10,049 posts)What better way to accomplish that than to bribe and blackmail a political party. They found willing participants in the Republican Party and had a willing person in Donald Trump to destroy traditional alliances and isolate the US on the world stage. They sowed discord with disinformation campaigns, helping to fuel the culture wars that so divide the country today. I would not be surprised to learn that Putin and Rupert Murdoch are best friends because both want to destroy democracy.

(1,969 posts)Bribery is much less expensive than war. Putin nearly accomplished his goal of taking over the US government. He couldn't afford a war with the US, so instead he bribed the republicans.

At this moment in history, Russia is the enemy of every democracy. Ukraine is the ally of every democracy. The fundamental premise behind the ongoing U.S. insurrection is that America should be an authoritarian regime, not a democracy. Its why the insurrectionists support Putin.

And Republicans are working overtime to try and get their base to slither with them into the louse-infested bed embracing the totalitarian genocidal and immoral Russian government of TFG's intimate and equally korupt Komrade, Putin the Brutal Fascist Butcher.
In so doing the G.O.P. betrays America and democracy at home and in the world.
