insist on voting for people who turn away Democratic relief programs:
Who do they blame for their stagnant situation? I just don't see how they can blame a Democratic president or Federal government when their guy or gal keeps rejecting programs that can help them. Especially puzzling when they're represented by millionaires who financially benefit from turning those programs down.

(4,999 posts)What they fail to realize is they haven't voted for *enough* Democrats.
But, no, may as well not go to the polls and allow more GOP power to rule their lives...
People don't get it, and are easily mislead by incessant messaging that D's and R's are the same.

(46,755 posts)other people's eyes. What they are doing IS stupid, and they can continue voting for Rs, but where we beg to differ is that they don't have any logic to support that the Democrats are at fault for their situation. So they shouldn't blame the federal level when their fault is in their own voting decisions at the State level.
That's all we'll be able to do. I don't think we can convince them to vote Democratically. But I do believe that they need to accept that it is their prejudices that keep them from doing anything different.
