My Trumper customer sits and watches rightwing TV for hours and it's always on in the background. No one is making her watch that stuff. She does it to herself.
I think immigration is her big thing. They are bringing dangerous diseases here like tuberculosis.
I don't think she fact checks anything.

(21,215 posts)She was in the throes of dementia and was really mean and nasty. When we moved her to the assisted living unit for extra care she didnt take the tv and was actually a lot nicer not watching that crap on Fox.

What happens when a group of Fox News viewers watch CNN for a month?

In an unusual, and labor intensive, project, two political scientists paid a group of regular Fox News viewers to instead watch CNN for a month. At the end of the period, the researchers found surprising results; some of the Fox News watchers had changed their minds on a range of key issues, including the US response to coronavirus and Democrats attitude to police.
The findings suggest that political perspectives can be changed but also reveals the influence partisan media has on viewers ideology.
Polls have previously shown that viewers of Fox News, the most-watched cable news channel in the US, are far more likely to believe the false claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen than the average American, and are more likely to believe falsehoods about Covid-19.
The extent of the networks influence on American politics was highlighted this week, with a report that Joe Biden has privately referred to Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox News, as the most dangerous man in the world and one of the most destructive forces in the United States.
Joe speaks the truth.

(100,107 posts)I know people who have Fox on every TV in the house and even listen to it on their phones and radios. The question is how do you deal with that addiction?

(13,624 posts)around Sept. 21, but we had one here. I made a point to go through the park it was at both when they were setting up and the next morning. The first pass I came across a weird little old dude walking his little dog and the moron has Tucker blaring on his phone! That's one thing I don't do. I'm out enjoying the sounds and sights of all the little creatures around. I want no media. It's my break from that shit. No wonder these people are so messed up. They can't leave it alone.
That rally here was a bust. The next morning there was almost nothing in the garbage cans even and no one posted anything about it. If they had more than 20 people, I'd be surprised. I know they would have posted pics if they weren't embarrassed by the turnout.
