"The hearings are going to blow the roof off the House" What we learned today about the tours may be part of what he was talking about. They are going to expose Republican traitors in the House. They were part of the coup and the committee has the evidence.

(54,770 posts)have shown up at Capitol on Jan 6th.
But, I havent seen a bombshell in months that didnt fizzle with a few minutes of thought. I fear the Committee is hyping the hearings confusing tons of evidence trump and associates are unfit for office with convictable criminal activity.

(23,319 posts)If he's the one saying something will "blow the roof off the House," I'm inclined to give it some credence.
If Gym Jordan had said it, I wouldn't give it a milligram of credence.

(54,770 posts)I was watching Rep Raskin -- think it was MSNBC, but could have been CNN -- when he was hyping the hearings with the "blow the roof" stuff.
During that same video he was going on about new tapes the found of Meadows aking Hannity to remind GOPers to vote leading up to November 2020 becuase they need every vote, as if that is illegal. If that is the kind of stuff the Rep Rakin thinks will blow the roof off, we are in serious trouble if we expect the hearings to help us in midterms.
AND, if he has roof-blowing evidence of actual criminal activity and has not referred it to DOJ -- preferring to use it in Hearings -- I'd question doing that.

(16,811 posts)I also suspect that it will affect many Republicans running for re-election in the House and Senate as well in November. The House primarily. Those running for office loyal to Trump too.
Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger have nothing to lose at this point. I believe Liz Cheney will win her primary in Wyoming and her seat in Congress. She has the balls to call out members of the GOP as HYPOCRITES and I think she will be rewarded for it. For not all Republicans are anti-Democracy as many in the House Republican caucus are.

Committee letter: "Republicans on the Committee on House Administrationof which you are a Memberclaimed to have reviewed security footage from the days preceding January 6th and determined that [t]here were no tours, no large groups, no one with MAGA hats on"
Not only did Loudermilk give a tour but he was a member of the committee that supposedly reviewed security video and found "nothing".
Only three republicans are on that committee: Rodney Davis, Bryan Steil and Barry Loudermilk
I'm guessing all three reviewed that footage and all three lied about there being no tours of the Capitol.

(5,856 posts)...of the tours previous to J6. I'm sure they have solid evidence.
I was just half-listening to msnbc and someone mentioned Capitol floor plans. If those motherfuckers gave the insurrectionists floor plans...
Well, that would certainly blow the lid off the house.
