Eleven countries are investigating possible cases of monkeypox as of Friday, including the United States where a second possible case was reported in New York City Thursday night.
The disease is normally geographically limited to parts of west and central Africa, according to the World Health Organization.
The first U.S. case was reported in Massachusetts on Wednesday.
Canada on Thursday confirmed two monkeypox cases and is investigating another 15, officials said. In Europe, officials have suspected or confirmed cases in eight countries: The United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Belgium, France and Germany.

I agree that the far right might use this in the same way Reagan's far right blamed gays for AIDS.
