Wonderful competition as always. The theme was "I pulled over for this shot." Grumpy Old Guy was the theme decider and he did good.
In first place is HAB911 with the splendid Main Supply Route 1, Tongil-ro (Unification Road) DMZ to Seoul, Bukhan Mountain
Number two goes to Walleye with a stunning Winter Solstice Sunset, Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Delaware
And my personal favourite that came in third, by, WiVoter with a Upnorth Wisconsin Double Rainbow composition.
I am sure that you all want to give congrats.
And to everyone that took the time to get involved and to comment, the Photography Group thanks you. Please watch out for HABS theme for next month.
Please show appreciation in your marvellous DU way in the comments! Hurrah!

(12,904 posts)I dont usually pick the winner, but I did this time.
This contest was hard. I think the theme of the contest may have made it a little more challenging. I had to keep imagining myself pulling over for the shot.
Congratulations to all!

(7,350 posts)It's mainly a music (and other topics but no politics ) forum. There's a TomSlick who posts there. I use part of my real name there. We've interacted. That's why I ask, just curious!

It's a pretty cool forum. Lots of knowledgeable people, well moderated.

(81,443 posts)Nice capture of that double rainbow! I never saw one of those before we moved to Oregon. Never in L.A. But of course it rarely ever rained in L.A., so how could you?

(7,833 posts)The green harvest lies heaped under a sky of moving clouds, with lavender and purple mountains in the background. Everything in the picture talks of the temporary fruitfulness of nature, the ever-changing weather, and the never-changing mountains. Serenity poised for a moment in the midst of beauty. What we could all see if we looked.
Winter Solstice Sunset is the essence of drama, black shapes and a molten sun against a red sky. The drivers and their headlights bring the scene out of hell and into the commute. Or are they different?
Double Rainbow catches the ephemeral splendor of the natural world in the few minutes it displayed itself.
Oh, well done, everybody!
