The Texas Governor and Senator will speak at the NRA convention in two days. Republicans love guns more than children. They are not pro life and we need to start calling a spade a spade.

(182,911 posts)NBA PA announcer just about broke a few minutes ago.
The PA announcer at the Dallas-Golden State game was clearly breaking up.
He asked for a moment of silence for a teacher killed in a car wreak driving two students to an event. Then he started mentioning the shooting today.
You could hear it very clearly. Several times his voice cracked and there were noticeable pauses.
The game is in Dallas.
It just happened so I dont know if theres video of it yet.

(2,668 posts)Ask every candidate to answer yes or no, do guns and ammunition belong in the hands of the public.
See how their answers affect their chances.
Those who answer no probably won't do so well!

These are 100% preventable and are NOT tragedies. We need to say that over and over.

(2,668 posts)If the American People believe that guns and ammunition belong in the hands of the public, then politicians who oppose that concept are not long for public life.
Perhaps not long for life itself if any such politician were ever elected, because they would probably get shot by a paranoid gun lover!
If the gun lobby is effective, it's only because the majority of voters agree that their "freedom" to bear arms is worth the occasional atrocity.
There is no other way to explain the lack of effective pushback.
Grieve and move on is the consensus view.
