1. Without the video it would have been just another blue wash

You are correct. I don’t need to see dead kids. I understand what you are saying. The police and forensic teams at Sandy Hook (from multiple reports I read then and saw this morning) were forever personally changed by what they saw.

Should it be shown on tv, like an adults only late night gore fest? They showed those kind of films about DUI/DWI and the blood and death and wreckage in car crashes. Not sure it changed anyone's drinking and driving, but we do have DUI laws. Of course it took them more than 20 years and MADD to enact legislation.

That's why so many states want laws forbidding the videotaping of police.

I'm all for backing up the blue, but if the blue isn't doing anything wrong, videotaping shouldn't be a problem.

Their unions apparently see things differently.

The look in Chauvin's face. It was almost like he was saying "I'm staying right here w/ my knee on his neck--because I can."

And yeah he could, because the other cops standing around did nothing to stop it.

prayers. Not the grieving families. Not the bloviating politicians. The little bodies. Dead, unmoving, covered in blood. Body parts. Gore. Senseless, needless carnage. Maybe if people saw what it really looks like. No flowers on caskets. No choirs singing nice songs. Show what really happens. In the end, after all the usual outrage and speeches, these events are somehow sanitized for public consumption and they shouldn't be. Anyone's kid could be next. Anyone could be next. It has to end. I'm at the point where I think the government should go door-to-door and confiscate the damn weapons. Enough.

that someone with access to the coroner's photos will leak them to the press. we'll have Emmitt till all over again. I suspect that the outrage would be overwhelming...

although I'm sure the nra has already planned for this eventually, perhaps like the Supreme Court leak...

I’d ask the families of the dead children how they feel about the idea.
