Correction. Cuellar dropped to a C rating because of his Yes Vote on the expansion of background check Post #12 & link.
Now.
Can someone inform Rep Cortez, so she can correct her tweets.
Thanks
Rep. Cuellar does NOT have an NRA A rating.
He has an C rating with the NRA, an C rating in 2020, and voted yes on House gun reform legislation. The A rating she's referring to in her tweets is from yrs ago. At least be truthful when criticizing another Democrat..[/b]
Cuellar had an C rating from the NRA in 2020.

Just sayin.
At least be truthful. Ffs
I have no idea why she's tweeting this stuff.
Maybe she got the wrong info from someone.

(6,089 posts)This is from 2018. I wonder how many of these positions he still holds.
Dear Texas NRA Member:
Please vote Henry Cuellar for U.S. House of Representatives in the 28th Congressional District of Texas on or before Tuesday, November 6th. For more information on voting, please call 1-800-252-8683 or visit http://www.votetexas.gov/index.html.
The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Henry Cuellar for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 28th Congressional District of Texas. Henry has a proven pro-Second Amendment record and is committed to protecting our right to self-defense!
For the following reasons, Henry Cuellar has received our endorsement and A rating:
Supports Right-to-Carry Voted for the strongest Concealed Carry Reciprocity legislation ever to come before the U.S. Congress, which would ensure that the nearly 20 million law-abiding Americans who can carry a concealed firearm in their home state are able to do so in any other state that does not prohibit it.
Opposes Semi-Auto Ban Opposes a ban on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms used for hunting, recreational shooting and self-defense.
Supports Veterans Second Amendment Rights Voted for legislation to protect veterans Second Amendment rights.
Opposes Backdoor Gun Ban Voted to strike down an Obama-era regulation that would have stripped Social Security recipients of their Second Amendment rights without due process.
Supports Americas Hunting Heritage Voted for the Sportsmens Heritage and Recreation Enhancement (SHARE) Act, a bill that would benefit sportsmen throughout Texas and the country.
Opposes Criminalizing Private Firearm Transfers Opposes the Pelosi/Schumer/Bloomberg so-called universal background check system that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms which, according to the Obama Justice Department, is only enforceable through federal firearms registration.
Opposes Operation Choke Point Voted for legislation to end an abusive Obama-era program, known as Operation Choke Point, in which the Department of Justice intimidated banks into refusing or severing financial services to legally-operated ammunition and firearms dealers.
Opposes Ammo Ban Signed a letter to the Obama Administration opposing its flagrant attempt to ban the most popular and widely used ammunition in America.
Opposes Gun Confiscation Voted to prohibit gun confiscation during states of emergency, as happened after Hurricane Katrina.
Supports Manufacturers and Dealers Voted for legislation that prevents the American gun industry from being sued into bankruptcy through frivolous lawsuits.
Please vote Henry Cuellar for U.S. House of Representatives on or before Tuesday, November 6th, and please encourage your friends and family to do the same!
P.S. Please dont forget to vote Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate, Greg Abbott for Governor, Dan Patrick for Lieutenant Governor and Ken Paxton for Attorney General!

(15,325 posts)No.
As for ROE, he is not for abortion personally because of his faith, but believes it should be allowed in cases of rape, incest, a problem pregancy or if the life of the mother is threatened.
Henry Cuellar also fully supported the 2016 Campaign of Hillary Clinton which would have granted America a liberal minded Supreme Court.
We now have a RW christofascist SC that dismanantled ROE, & strengthened gun rights.
I'm not quite sure what her point is to the trashing of our entire Dem leadership, when it's a serious examining of past actions that may be more helpful.

Before that, Cuellar was one of only 3 A Rated Dems:

The rating dropped because of his YES VOTE on the expansion of background checks.
Now I expect to see Rep Cortez correct her false statement.
*ignore is a necessary feature.
My correction noted ~~ From A to C
*Now about that 5 Times No Vote on the Brady Bill that gave immunity to gun manufacturers.

(43,415 posts)also show me anywhere in this OP thread where I made a false claim.
as you said
No, I made no false claim in my only reply in the thread
another untruth from you

(15,325 posts)He dropped from A to C because of his YES VOTE on the expansion of background checks.

Celerity
(43,415 posts)your title to a correct statement, yet you did not change a repeat of the false claim that he was F rated in 2020
here is your link from your post #12
https://www.thetrace.org/2020/09/nra-grades-2020-election/
and here is what your linked article says:
that is correct
but you still claim in your OP, post edit, that he was F-rated in 2020, which he was not
here again is the false claim, that still is in your OP:
LetMyPeopleVote
(145,321 posts)Celerity
(43,415 posts)I did NOT claim he was still A rated, and anyone, AOC, etc etc included, who claimed that was also wrong.
I said (correctly) that Cuellar had a C rating in 2020 not an F like the OP claimed, and the OP changed their title long ago (they had it incorrectly as an F)
here:
also, the OP had still left one more erroneous 'F claim', at the bottom of his OP (see my snapshot above in the thread), which they have now correctly changed to a 'C' as well, via a 2nd edit (go look at their edits)
then
now
.
now as your reply to me now:
the tweet from NewbieHoward you posted claiming Cuellar has an F rating is false, even your other tweets you posted show this to be the case
here again is documented proof that it was a C, not an F, the C was a downgrade of an A rating, which I also show below
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xfkxav6oA-gSgKlRY34vkYHVimDPB2Gg6UMIrVWjfZ0/edit#gid=1298907422
https://web.archive.org/web/20200923234045/https://www.nrapvf.org/grades/texas/
a 2019 article from the NYT showing his A rating before it was downgraded to a C (NOT an F):
Sept. 9, 2019
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/09/us/politics/henry-cuellar-nra.html
The NRA has not yet posted ratings for Cuellar in 2022
https://www.nrapvf.org/grades/Texas/
they did not grade him (or any Dem) in the 28th district primary either, just Rethugs:
https://web.archive.org/web/20220209165819/https://www.nrapvf.org/grades/Texas/
the last time he was graded on their site, November 2020, he was a C, and the Rethug was not graded
https://web.archive.org/web/20201103185228/https://www.nrapvf.org/grades/texas
FINALLY
let's revisit that tweet YOU posted
WHY are YOU posting broad brush ultra smears like this????????????????
if you posted this POS tweet as an OP it would be hidden so fast your head would spin:
Link to tweet
and the EXACT part of the tweet YOU posted that I am referring to, just so I am CRYSTAL clear
seriously, why the hell are you posting this bullshit???
Are you going to now claim that people like Jamie Raskin (a target of another twitter troll, @JusticeDemWatch, you post on DU) and Sanders (forever targeted by that same troll you post here, including them openly calling him a Putin asset, the literally saying he is working for Putin) hate Jews?

The sentiment of the thread is still in tact, so no need to delete something just because you dont want it. Its a perfectly accurate message overall. Not to mention Texas gun culture that is unquestionably a political liability.

(10,832 posts)We can have our differences during a primary but once a candidate wins and becomes our nominee, we all need to rally around the winner bc there's so much at stake and our majorities are razor thin.
I don't know enough about Texas politics to even wager an opinion between Cuellar and Cisneros.
But then, I'd love to see Beto O'Rourke bulldoze Abbott and his nasty crew.

Gratitude to all in his District who voted BLUE.
A House seat that will continue to give President Biden all the support he needs to get the US back on track, both home & abroad.

Actually, they represent the demographic of the district they're elected to.
More power to any Dem who can win in a Red district. The majority of the House & Senate is key to committees, Speaker, legislative power in DC.
In the end each voter had 2 choices.
Blue or Red...
You can choose to support one or the other on election day.
