5. They should build a moat around the schools and a drawbridge,

maybe even some alligators. A machine gunners nest at the entrance would also be a nice touch. Giving the kids body armor and an AR15 would help too.

6. A friend of mine was sheriff here back in the late 1970s.

At that time the sheriff's department had 18 employees. Today our sheriff's department has over 80 employees. We now have an officer at each school, two officers at the county courthouse, some kind of armored monstrosity from Iraq, an armored personnel carrier. All of that and our population has dropped and we aren't any safer.
