So cops won't stop school massacres because of George Floyd?

I'm not defending the actions of the officers. But we've demonized law enforcement to the point that there are far fewer rewards for being a hero, for taking risks. When your culture makes George Floyd the hero, real heroes stand down. Cultural rot has consequences.

I never thought I would see armed Texans standing around while a gunman was killing children in a schoolhouse

Something has gone very, very wrong

Helluva take from the king of shitty takes. You can’t simultaneously valorize an entire profession as innately heroic and then justify letting children die because Americans don’t think police should lynch a Black man on national television.

Also, what are the “rewards” for taking risks to DO THE JOB YOU ARE PAID TO DO that have now gone away because people protested a state murder of Black man? What “rewards” did police lose? Unquestioning adulation? Ability to do anything and everything without consequence? WHAT??

I figured it would come to this with the temper tantrum crowd of lauded snowflakes.

And now, what?

he was a victim and a symbol of the many victims of police violence. He was the unfortunate man who was killed with such blatant disregard for human life, that people took notice.

Second, cops take the job knowing there might be danger. Isn't that their excuse for shooting all those unarmed people?

finger in his (or her) ass while children are being gunned down is a cowardly S.O.B. They made the decision that their lives were more important than the children. The should have to wear the label of shame for the rest of their pathetic natural lives.

There will be all kinds of excuses, we have seen it before, but the bottom line is that the cops were yellow.

But if a cop didn't run into a school to save kids because he percieves that the community didn't show him the deference he believes he should get, that cop should hang up his holster and turn in his badge TODAY because he is in the job for the wrong reasons.

That's problem with cops and the military post 9-11, they got their ass kissed so much rhat they expect the hero worship from everyone, even if they don't act heroically.

It doesn't have to make sense or be moral so long as the Libs "get what's coming to them".

Many attorneys do that kind of work.

After the Laquan McDonald killing the cops went on in house strike and stopped arresting people. The work for all these overflow attorneys all but dried up.

Chicago cops were butt hurt that some cops were in trouble over murdering a black kid and lying on reports and hiding evidence. The guys who erased the Burger King surveillance footage were exonerated.

Okay, I'm the first one to admit that I'm not knowledgeable about guns. Never shot one in my life. Had to look things up when I was writing and wrote a character who carried. However, I do know that your standard police service weapon does not beat a semi-automatic long gun like an AR-15. Especially if the cop was not wearing body armor.

Does that mean that the cops shouldn't have stormed the building? IDK. I wouldn't have been able to make that call. But I do know that, if they hadn't waited for a tactical team, there would have been dead cops. And if the parents who were armed had stormed the building, it would have been even worse.

I don't know anything about this particular PDs policies but most police cruisers these days have an AR-15 stored inside either in a rack up front, the trunk or separate secure storage compartment in SUV type vehicles.

The pump shotgun used to fill this role but policy started shifting, ironically, as part of the response to Columbine.

After all their decades of impunity coming to an end is sure to cause many to act out against the innocent and cause as much harm as possible because they are mad.

and now he's saying "police only looked 'fearless' because no-one held them to normal standards of human behaviour - they only did it for unquestioned adulation".
