A new The 19th/Momentive poll finds 65% of Americans say they dont want the Supreme Court to reverse its decision that legalized abortion federally, and even larger majorities say they do not want opinions on personal liberties involving marriage and contraception overturned.
Meanwhile, from Axios: Conservative legislatures are passing a raft of controversial new laws, many of which push the envelope further than the courts have ever allowed.

Roe goes first.
Then, Griswold, which established the right to privacy. Then, they'll come for Loving, Obergfell, and others.

A huge chunk are not going to get off their asses to vote. Another chunk is going to continue voting for the Republicans because you know, "my body, my choice, but eww I can't vote for a Democrat because...."
Sorry, just feeling cynical this morning.

(13,903 posts)The hard truth is that things will continue the way they are going unless the people turn out in droves to vote and if their voting is impeded they must sue over and over.
I see no turning point but I have hope that the mid terms will be a slap in the face of the christofascists.
Then again I didn't think the Pig could quite pull off winning the Presidency.

Are we slowly headed to that?
