OP from several days ago.
:
The 15 year old niece of my daughter's nanny in New York City never came home from school last Friday. Vanished without a trace. We were sent a photo, but the likelihood of her turning up in the German Rheinland is remote at best. The Dallas girl was found (NOT by the police, of course) 200 miles away in the clutches of a prostitution ring.
The whole family of this girl is originally from the Dominican Republic. My daughter's nanny is an attractive, highly educated and intelligent woman who is extremely good at her job. The missing girl is, if anything, even prettier than her aunt, and probably a prized catch for an abduction ring. I can only hope she is found/rescued as quickly as the girl from Texas.
Though I am in principle against the death penalty, people who participate in these kidnapping rings and coldly ruin the lives of others in this fashion deserve something worse. Amputation of both arms and legs and then abandonment to fend for themselves on some deserted island somewhere. I have no sympathy or hope of rehabilitation for someone willing to do this to a fifteen-year-old.

My thanks to those who responded before it was no longer possible.
As of yesterday, she was found. She was not fine. She was not "alright."
That's all I can say for now.

(54,403 posts)Some people were kind enough to ask when the thread was locked, so I asked where it was "safe" to post, and was directed here.
If the details aren't too morbid, and IF I get the green light to post what happened, I will. If not, I will respect that as well, obviously. We have been getting our fill of gruesome news as it is, I fear.
There is an 18yo girl missing in NC after she left the house to walk her 2 dogs. Its an epidemic .a brutal one.
I want to know more about what happened to her but I respect your wishes, ant those of the hosts.

(16,970 posts)on my street. It stopped and let a girl off, but didn't immediately move on. I think the driver waited until the girl was at her front door, which was behind some storage buildings. I thought of the nanny's niece, and was grateful to the driver for the extra care. Thank you for this update.

Sorry for .... the shitty parts of this world.
