Cruz continued with his talking points, "You’ve got your political agenda. God love you,” Cruz replied storming away to dodge more of the reporter’s questions.

The Independent via Yahoo reports, "The Sky News team then followed the Texas lawmaker and continued to throw questions in his direction, specifically asking repeatedly why these kind of mass shootings seem to “only happen in America.”

Cruz' response was jingoistic gibberish. Cruz is too used to going on the confines of Hannity and Ingraham's programs.

10. Sen. Cruz pulls out all the usual tricks

The reporter clearly makes the point that this aspect of American exceptionalism (mass shootings every other day) is awful, but Cruz tries to side-track the question he doesn't like by saying the reporter hates everything about the United States. When the reporter asks about regulation of firearm ownership, Cruz mechanistically repeats the usual talking point that regulations don't work, the Democrats' proposals won't work, and apparently nothing should change because there's nothing wrong with the United States.

It's good to see it called out, if only a little bit. The Republicans and the gun nuts have at least had some of their bullshit fed back to them this time around, and they've had to do some quick shifting of their standard official positions. For example, their early talking point that the killer was just plain evil, before it was pointed out that there are evil people in other countries, too, same as with mentally disturbed people. Yet those countries don't routinely experience mass shootings.

Maybe we can actually force them to come up with new bullshit excuses this time around.

11. Cruz storms off after being asked why mass shootings happen 'only in America'

During an interview with British Sky News reporter Mark Stone, Cruz, who was seen hugging and meeting with those at the vigil, was asked whether this was the moment to reform gun laws. Cruz responded by saying, “You know, it’s easy to go to politics.”

“But it’s important, it’s at the heart of the issue,” Stone replied, according to a video of the interview viewed more than 1 million times as of Thursday morning.

Then Stone asked, “Why does this only happen in your country? .... Why only in America? Why is this American exceptionalism so awful?”

That’s when Cruz fired back: “You know, I’m sorry you think American exceptionalism is awful. You’ve got your political agenda. God love you.”

As he attempted to walk away, Stone said he just wanted “to understand why you do not think that guns are the problem.”

“It is just an American problem,” the journalist said to Cruz.

At the end of the exchange, Cruz again ignored the journalist’s question and accused Stone of pushing propaganda before walking away.

“Why is it that people come from all over the world to America? Because it’s the freest, most prosperous, safest country on Earth,” the senator said. “Stop being a propagandist.”
