The Miami Heat urges fans to call their senators about gun law reform

The Miami Heat basketball team urged fans on Wednesday night to call their senators to advocate for gun reform laws ahead of a playoff game, after 19 children and two adults were killed at a Texas elementary school shooting Tuesday.

"The Heat urges you to contact your state senators by calling 202-224-3121 to leave a message demanding their support for common sense gun laws," the stadium announcer said as the team geared up to play the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the teams' playoff series.

Skip school board meetings at hit city meetings and say these same things.

Of course ordinary people can’t show strong emotion or get called hysterical by press and removed.

There are radio stations all over this country that broadcast pro and college sports that provide nothing but hate for the remainder of the week.

Look, it's pretty simple...

Nothing will change. The racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy...NONE OF IT will change, unless and until we make racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy unprofitable to the corporations, businesses and individuals that fund and enable it.

for YEARS now. DC is broken. They only care about getting re-elected and raising funds to do so. There are a lot of rumblngs out there about just not even bothering to go to the polls. Could be exactly what they are working toward. WE THE PEOPLE have just become bothersome. Our meager political contributions will never match up against the big corporate folks. And around and around we go.

Too bad it's not the NBA commissioner calling on all teams to do this, including other sports. Reach out to your fans, make them think.
