That would have made a statement of selfless generosity. Great photo-op.

(45,274 posts)Mormons are more into donating other people's blood, like Willard did during Vietnam.
Maybe he ordered all his servants to get drained.

(13,617 posts)I've done a few blood drives at LDS churches or other facilities. We get a good turnout.

(13,617 posts)service. I was a blood bank tech for them. It still would look good for Romney to donate though. mormons are good donors, I've done blood drives at LDS churches.
With the ARC, they asked for volunteers to go work during Katrina. I mean volunteering to go there as paid staff. I did but my bosses wouldn't let me go. That would have required a staff member from Boise traveling to Lewiston, ID where I worked and staying in a motel to cover for me. Too much expense and hassle just so I could go on an adventure, which was really the point. Not that I wouldn't have worked hard and felt good about helping out.

(13,617 posts)in those Hammer Films. That one nails it. Someone could photoshop one of the actual Lee stills and really get it right.

(2,921 posts)It's been years since I donated, but going to a local blood bank tomorrow and direct the blood to be sent for Hurricane Sandy survivors.

(13,617 posts)to donate but I would suspect Sandy hasn't cause a huge need for transfusions to the survivors. What might happen is your donation will help ensure availability of blood in general.
The real problem is probably that all the blood drives in that region were canceled. All the elective surgeries that would have required blood were also canceled though. It might be a push. Your blood center probably exports in some situations to where there are shortages. In any case it sure won't hurt. Well maybe just a little.

But seriously, that thought probably didn't occur to them. "Selfless" isn't in his vocabulary. So they came up with a bus of canned food.

(374 posts)To be fair, and I hate being fair to his kind, most rich people in this country cannot donate. I worked in a blood bank in Bellevue, WA (like the Beverly Hills of WA) for a short time, and most of the men that tried to donate couldn't because they had either hired prostitutes or ate the meat of a cow in Europe when companies were feeding cow brains to cows to cause BSE. Very few of the disgusting men in that place could donate. People forget just how much red meat the rich eat from here eat while traveling in Europe.
