My cousin lives about ten miles inland and isn't answering her phone. She's about 70 years old and insisted on riding it out. I assumed she was safe where she is, and maybe the power is out, but I'm a bit worried. If she has no power I think she'd leave.
Does anyone on DU know if she'd be flooded or without electricity?

(29,098 posts)My sisters land line isn't working either and she has one of those old wall phones that doesn't need electric. She's without power anyways..... She's much further north than Point Pleasant. My guess tho is if she is 10 miles inland she is probably ok. Does anyone in your family live close by enough to check on her?

She's pretty stubborn, but I hope she left if she's without power.

(18,640 posts)She borrowed a cell from her sister in law, but it just goes to VM. No reply yet, and I just tried again. I'm pretty sure she's safe because she lives so far inland, but I don't know where she ended up.
Thanks for the concern.
