Maybe we should make a habit of referring to guns as DEATH TOYS. And MASSACRE MACHINES. The word “guns” is much too tidy and doesn’t fully illustrate the monstrousness of them.

Guns aren’t designed to plow fields.
Guns aren’t designed to start cars.
Guns aren’t designed to shed light.
Guns aren’t designed for transport.
Guns aren’t designed for building.
Guns aren’t designed for designing.
Guns aren’t designed for engineering.
Guns aren’t designed for piloting.
Guns aren’t designed for dancing.
Guns aren’t designed for feeding.
And despite what the gun fetishists out there would try to convince you,
Guns aren’t designed for raising children.
They ARE, however, designed for MURDERING children. And rather efficiently, too.

Guns are designed FOR KILLING.

ie: MASSACRE MACHINES, been saying we should quit using the term "school shooting" and instead
use "SCHOOL MASSACRE", every mass shooting should use the term MASSACRE, "shooting" kinda
whitewashes it. When is the next "WALMART MASSACRE" gonna happen?

And you can take words EVERYWHERE, including places where guns are supposedly banned.

And you can write them down ON something - to be seen by and have influence on many others after you’re long gone.

I once heard a gunner tell me that it wasn’t a gun he was holding. It was “an attitude-adjustment device.”

Well, true that. But so are words. And words do it without death, maiming, crippling, widowhood or orphaning.

I’m not used to feeling embarrassed about being an American.

But right now, it’s something I’m not proud of. And especially not proud of myself, for my inability to do anything about it. Except maybe to rant, and maybe thereby offering even just a measly bit of solidarity to others who feel the same way I do. And to try to think up ways to sharpen the messaging.

But I’m not the President. And hell, even the guy who IS President can’t do much of anything either. Even when his heart and mind are both in the same place.

I can only hang my head and feel disgusted.

There is really no difference between us and the Germans in WWII who full well knew about the concentration camps in their towns and did nothing.
(The concentration camp crematoriums smokestack blew out pieces of skin
which covered the town occupants.)

We have had a million covid deaths due by GOP deliberate plan, thousands of deaths per year due to gun violence, poverty, inadequate health care etc.
All occurring in the richest country in the history of the world.

POTUS works for the American people who choose to do nothing.

That's it - the words they live by and the children die by. How freakin' sicko is that?

They willfully sidestep the “well-regulated militia” part.

They ignore even the “well-regulated” part.

And they WAY misunderstand the “militia” part.

"I own guns to keep my babies safe."

Great, but that's not the question, is it? The first question is "if you had to give up your children in order to keep your guns?"

And the second question is "would you give up your children so that somebody else can keep their guns?"

IMO it should be "Are gun manufacture's profits more important than children's lives?" (And I changed the order to reflect the priority being emphasized)

After all, that's what this is all about. More guns don't make it safer, if anything, more guns equate to more civilian casualties. But, more gun sales mean more profits for gun manufacturers and gun merchants.
