It’s weird: Most all of the men and women in the armed forces are our best in every way that is good. They have kept us a free nation since 1776. Yet, the institution of the Standing Military has become a money trough for the greedy and a profit center for the corrupt.

Those interested in the history might enjoy “House of War” by John Carroll.
