To all you lovable gun nuts crying about the 2nd Amendment. How about this?

So, let me get this straight. All you gun nuts want your manly huge collection of guns because you have the constitutional right to bear arms and if, just in case, you need to fight the government you and your buddies will be properly prepared to do so? What good are all these guns going to do when the government decides to use its sophisticated hypersonic and directed-energy weapons, high powered acoustic sound cannons, lasers, "heat ray" weapons that blister the surface of your skin at you and your other proud boy friends, causing you to LITERALLY shit in your pants (one of the side effects). I have a feeling that all you "proud boys" will run screaming to mommie when hit with second degree burns after only 3 seconds of exposure to these weapons. What good is your rifle, your AK-47 going to be when you can't even stand in one place long enough to fire it without your brain being fried by lasers or ultra sound canons? By now I am sure the level of sophistication for these crowd control weapons is even more lethal and twice as effective than we know about. Honey -- if the guvment wants to knock you down, you going down -- fast... even if you have a pickup truck full of AK-47's. With these weapons, they don't even have to pinpoint you. They can just aim it in your general direction and BAM you are incapacitated and pooping in your pants to boot.

The Active Denial System (ADS) is a non-lethal directed-energy weapon developed by the U.S. military,[2] designed for area denial, perimeter security and crowd control,

Mechanism and effects
The ADS works by firing a high-powered (100 kW output power)[13] beam of 95 GHz waves at a target, which corresponds to a wavelength of 3.2 mm.[14] The ADS millimeter wave energy works on a principle similar to a microwave oven, exciting the water and fat molecules in the skin, and instantly heating them via dielectric heating. One significant difference is that a microwave oven uses the much lower frequency (and longer wavelength) of 2.45 GHz. The short millimeter waves used in ADS only penetrate the top layers of skin, with most of the energy being absorbed within 0.4 mm (1⁄64 inch),[15] whereas microwaves will penetrate into human tissue about 17 mm (0.67 inch).[16]

The ADS's effect of repelling humans occurs at slightly higher than 44 °C (111 °F), though first-degree burns occur at about 51 °C (124 °F), and second-degree burns occur at about 58 °C (136 °F).[17] In testing, pea-sized blisters have been observed in less than 0.1% of ADS exposures, indicating that second degree surface burns have been caused by the device.[17] The radiation burns caused are similar to microwave burns, but only on the skin surface due to the decreased penetration of shorter millimeter waves. The surface temperature of a target will continue to rise so long as the beam is applied, at a rate dictated by the target's material and distance from the transmitter, along with the beam's frequency and power level set by the operator. Most human test subjects reached their pain threshold within 3 seconds, and none could endure more than 5 seconds.[18]

p.s. I have seen videos online of millitary brass allowing themselves to be test subjects for these weapons and these brave men fell down on the ground literally IN SECONDS. Yup. You go ahead and try to fight with a pea shooter.

They just use “fighting tyranny” as bs justification to buy war weapons.

Owning lots of deadly weapons makes them feel manly and powerful and intimidating. That’s the part they won’t give up.

Instead they help tyrants. We've found out recently.

As a sad side note--they thought the mask mandate was tyranny.

campaign that went into play decades ago has bored its way deep into the dimwit minds of millions of idiots -- who by the way, also believe all the QAnon whacko crap, that the 2020 election was stolen (I know, I have a 67 year old college educated brother who is absolutely adamant about that), and the Bible as interpreted by religious zealots. Oh, and my brother doesn't own a firearm, but supports the "2nd Amendment" 100%.

to overthrow the government. Jan 6th is the perfect example. Those guns are for the civil war they think is coming. A war with Democrats/liberals/socialists. And the ONLY reason they "think" they are ready for this is that they have this notion that the aforementioned groups have NO guns and will be easy targets.
They are cowards at heart. They hide behind a pile of hardware that belies their true nature.

the Capitol thinking they were just being the "militia" envisioned in the 2nd Amendment. They just thought they should defeat "tyranny" peacefully for "the good of the country" that time. They now no-doubtedly with the encouragement of tfg and his goons see that as a mistake and a failure.

Not only that, but I can think of very recent examples where determined people with small arms gave our military hell for many years.

As if all the bad guys are going to show up like that, all perfectly set up in a conveniently formed group that meets the specific requirements of your new super weapon system. This kind of weapon works one single time, and then you'll never have a group of people all set up like that ever again.

The fact is that modern rifles are highly effective weapons, and there are 20-30 million of them currently in circulation around the US right now. They don't wear out, they don't have to be replaced unless they are damaged or mis-used. In 2050, a rifle manufactured in 1970 will still be highly effective and lethal given just a bare minimum of maintenance.

This sonic or UV weapon system cannot be everywhere, while people with rifles are. If motivated, they could do an untold amount of damage to our country and the economy.

The DC snipers basically shut down a major US city for weeks. If they were just a little bit smarter, or if they had multiple transport vehicles to choose from, that could have gone on a LOT longer. They wouldn't even need a semi-auto rifle for that, a simple bolt action rifle would be just as good, and restricting bolt action rifles isn't even on the radar of most gun control advocates.

2-2.5 mm mesh. You should be able to see out.

The wavelength stated for the ADS is about 3 mm.

I've often thought about buying copper cloth for my classroom, making it into a Faraday cage to block all the cell phones that don't access the school's wi-fi system. You could use this to make a kind of copper burqa if you could find someway to protect how you see out--I doubt you could see through this cloth.

Aluminum foil hats.

If it only penetrates 1/64" of skin, you would think that foil would stop or reflect it. My other thought is that that projector would makes for a very big target. I wonder if it is bulletproof? I wonder how much it cost us to develop?

To me, this looks like nothing but a tool to control peaceful protests. Terrorists or troops would laugh at it. SC justices need these in their neighborhoods to keep the riff-raff at bay.

It really sounds like a mega version of Asimov's "neuronic whip."
