A 10-year-old Florida elementary school student was arrested on Saturday after he allegedly texted a threat to conduct a mass shooting at a school.
The Lee County Sheriffs Office said the boy, a 5th grader at Patriot Elementary School in Cape Coral, was arrested after he was interviewed by detectives, according to WTVT.
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno had harsh words for the suspect, or anyone else considering such action, especially in the wake of the massacre in Uvalde, Texas, earlier this week, saying the students behavior was sickening.
Right now is not the time to act like a little delinquent, Marceno said. Its not funny. This child made a fake threat, and now hes experiencing real consequences.

(3,707 posts)America teaches kids from their earliest TV shows, or perhaps starting with Tio Vincent, that guns are to be desired; guns fix everything, good guys get guns.
Kids are also taught it is no big deal.
(Upset child) "Daddy why did Detective Dick die in the TV shooting?
"It's OK son, it was only make believe, but remember clip, not magazine, and squeeze the trigger."

(22,920 posts)That is stunning that they posted his name. I have a hard time imagining them doing that to a 10-year-old who looks like, and has a name like Kyle Rittenhouse.

(10,200 posts)The NRA has been fomenting anti-government sentiment for decades. 2nd Amendment adherents have been making violent threats against the police and federal authorities for years. "From my cold dead hands" and "Come and take them" have become NRA mantra.
In recent years the NRA crowd has also taken to threatening many other groups with gun violence. BLM, Antifa, environmental activists, immigrants crossing the border, abortion providers, Dr. Fauci and even elected officials enacting mask mandates are in their crosshairs. Kyle Rittenhouse already took them seriously.
