On Memorial Day we honor those who gave their lives in uniform

And I think we should. But I also think it should be a day to reflect on the wars and conflicts they were part of. Some died for a bad cause or no cause at all. Not all died defending the country or our freedom. It is not their fault they were placed in these situations and most served honorably. But we should not equate the sacrifice of the service people with the war they were in. Supporting the men and women in uniform should not mean supporting the military. But I fear TPTB have made them one and the same.

Although it makes me wonder whether those who died afterward from damages incurred WHILE serving are included - viz., cancers from Agent Orange, among many other things, physical or psychological.

Some did, but we haven't had a conflict in over 75 years that had anything to do with our Freedom. I do not like using the death of our service people as justification for the wars they fought.
