So far today, (it's almost 1 pm,) I've received SIX e-mails from this fake "Citibank," saying my account has been locked.
I don't have an account at Citibank.
I know it's a scam e-mail attempt, but why are they doing this over and over and over?

(4,999 posts)So there's one reason why you get multiple scams.
Second reason -- they are using massive, multiple email datasets. And they do no cross checking between the separate datasets to see if there are duplicates.
Third reason -- slighly changing information in the email each time they send it may make it more likely to fool your spam filter.
Those off the top of my head...

There's also Kitboga who does these.
There's a bunch of other channels that get these places on a call and penetrate their computers.
