Trump supporter arrested over US Capitol breach after fraternity brother tips off FBI

The eighth Oklahoman charged over the U.S. Capitol attack was turned in by a college fraternity brother who saw his 10 Facebook videos of the riot, the FBI reported.

Levi Roy Gable, 36, was arrested Thursday in Tulsa.

He is accused in four misdemeanor counts of illegally going inside the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and engaging in disruptive conduct.

"I was among the first people to make our way into the US Capitol Building," he purportedly posted on Facebook, according to the FBI.

Good one Hekate.
I literally NEVER met one person who was where they were because of a frat.
I've seen people get groomed for success because they went to the same school as some exec. (Mixed results on that.)
But, never a frat affiliation. And i was surrounded by college educated professionals for 42 years.
You know what else lasts forever? Not being in a frat!

Like attending one of the Ivy League colleges — meet the right people, marry the right person, learn the right manners. If your daddy endows a building, all to the good, you can be carried thru like Dubya and Trump. If you are bright and work hard, like the Obamas, you get a damn good education — and you still make connections.

But then, my whole life has been thousands and thousands of miles away from the East Coast, so I just know the system by repute. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I think with few exceptions, that's mostly BS.
Some very exclusive frats in some very exclusive schools might be different. (Skull & Bones?)
But, I've seen very little evidence that belonging to one helped, and never being a member hurt.
I think it's mostly an empty sales pitch.
I know 2 TEK members that ended managing a gas station for 30+ years. Hard to believe they needed their frat connections for that job. Just the BA in BA.

They teach the boys to look out for each other and some are really good at expecting charity from their brothers throughout their lives. It would be an admirable thing to do to help them, until you realize you’re supporting someone who is inherently racist, and have to deal with them spouting all the deadbeat memes about minorities. As an independent I always found this situation toxic.
