Italian photographer traveled the USA taking photos of Americans and their guns

Traveling to every corner of the United States, photographer Gabriele Galimberti captured proud gun owners and the American tradition to bear arms for a documentary project, titled “The Ameriguns.”

Obviously these people don't realize they are being mocked. They are proud of looking like deranged children.

We just have a "unique culture". Or a hoarding fetish that substitutes for culture.

Guns on the roof Family there has maybe, what, $100K worth of firearms? But their deck looks like shit, and their furniture is crap. Priorities.

You know, in case someone looks at that nice house and decides to break in because there's clearly lots of nice stuff inside.

Less flippantly, I knew a coin/stamp collector whose collection was worth a staggering amount of money, but he lived in a crappy one-bedroom apartment in the bad part of town and drove a car that was constantly on the verge of falling apart. Either of those could have been remedied by selling some of his collection, but I suspect he'd have sold a kidney first.

Some people just really, really like collecting things. Sometimes those things are guns. For me it's video games and Star Wars collectibles.

undertaker. I know the school bus driver that drove bus up into his 80s was buried with a pack of Mail Pouch chewing tobacco and a can of Budwieser. I swear he was drunk every day driving the bus, never had an accident though.

It's as if they're going for the world record--I own more guns than anyone, sucker!

And proud of it.

It's a world of obsessional thinking. Guns, God and misplaced Hubris.

Ugh!

Btw, this is not the unique culture of guns; it's the twisted culture.

Oddly I can’t kill one person with any of these. Although maybe I could strangle someone with one of the Freddie knee socks?
I’m such a loser.

Not sure if people that collect vinyl, figurines, train sets, etc. take such threatening stances when showing their collection.

are going to realize that the college education their parents told them they could not afford is splayed out on that deck and in the boxes of thousands of bullets inside the house.

And the resentment over that will curse them for the rest of their lives.
