Saw this show on the American History Cannel yesterday

America Fact or Fiction.
Indians didn't fight with a bow and arrow, they had repeating riffles bought from white men.
About 1/3 of cowboys were black or Mexican
I think it was something like .4% of the settlers were killed by Indians disease was by far the biggest killer of both

There were not gun fights where they drew on each other.
In the town's you had to turn in your guns to enter.
One year there were 35 gun deaths in the entire state of
Kansas but the city of Cinncinatti alone had 17.
Indians were great horsemen from centuries of riding, horses are not native to America.
There weren't saloons where they had prostitutes and poker tables. The prostitutes worked independently and gaming was done in gaming parlors.
That's just a few things all of this was a Hollywood invention.

it.
They say there are hundreds of dead workers in the concrete of Hover Dam. Not true, they had to pour the concrete a few inches at a time and nobody got buried.

They did another one on WWII, the Nazies didn't have this great mechanized army, the Germans had several hundred thousand horse soldiers. The reason they used Blizkreag was like shock and awe they didn't have the equipment for a sustained invation. The Germans had problems producing war equipment because they used slave labor that didn't support the cause.

One of a number of reasons why Custer and the 7th Calvary met their fate.

that they had equivalent firepower. Esp. not at the beginning.

From my copious reading.
