(31,879 posts)Throw his sorry ass in jail. I couldn't get away with just 'not sitting' before GJ - neither should he. Throw him in jail if he doesn't comply.

(4,913 posts)This grand jury investigation is a political witch hunt. It's in the constitution, look it up.
It says the vice-president can over rule the electoral vote count. Pence failed to do his duty so we tried to force him to do his duty. It's all legal I tell ya.

(94,727 posts)You mean to say that assembling a criminal case actually takes time and gradual progress?

I'll believe they'll be held accountable when it happens. Not when someone gets a subpoena.

can I assume you believe that President Biden wont deal with college debt because he hasnt done it so far?
Or does armchair prognostication only apply to criminal justice?
SoCalDavidS
(9,998 posts)I could give another comparison to refute your College Debt question. We've heard about Gun Control measures going back to Columbine, yet things have gotten worse, not better. There's nobody disputing the fact it's actually gone in the opposite direction, with fewer restrictions rather than more.
It's to the point that people are now Expecting that Nothing will change on that issue, regardless of how many want it to. It's the new normal.
So knowing what I know about this country, and how it treats the special people who are often above the law, I'll wait to see if there's ANY accountability.
And I'm sure others who agree with me would say, that we'll be in line to Celebrate if there are consequences. Just like we will be if the tide were to turn in terms of gun control. For now though, IMO, aside from some subpoenas, several of which have been ignored, crickets.

(36,133 posts)As to defying subpoenas, it depends on who issues it, why, and whether it can later be tacked onto an indictment as a count of obstruction.
Due process IS a consequence. Due process leads leaders to resign. Due process leads to criminal indctments, and court rulings in our favor. Due process leads to justice, which also IS a consequence.
So there's all that talk.

(13,614 posts)He may "attend" but he'll just refuse to answer because "his" president has to approve it first. Disagreement ensues, litigation begins which will be resolved in 20 or 30 years. Then they can arrest his exhumed body.

(10,064 posts)Its still hard to believe that someone so brazen and corrupt had a key role in the federal government. I know Trump only hired the corrupt, but how on earth did he find so many!

(21,402 posts)this is according to proven liar Navarro. When he is seen going to the courthouse then I will believe that DOJ has subpoenaed him.
Pics or it never happened.
