(90,364 posts)... other than semantics.
The fact this was even allowed to go to trial is what blows me away !!
A person who doesn't have the means of Sussman would be in jail for a crime they didn't commit !!
The DOJ needs to get its shit together and stop political prosecutions of democrats going back to the 90s.

(21,761 posts)Durham has been investigating since 2019 and found jack shit. The best he could come up with is this one case of supposed lying that got proven to be false in court. Durham did his best to try and weasel in some other bullshit but got slapped down hard. If President Biden or AG Garland had stopped it, the magats would have been able to scream 'cover up' straight through to 2024 and there would have been zero to counter it... It would have worked greatly in their favor. Now? They have jack shit and they know it. Durham was left to do as he pleased and he showed not only was it a bullshit investigation but that the entire Russia probe was 100% justified.
The magats falling flat on their faces is the best possible set up for the upcoming GJ & trials for 1/6 insurrection.

I'm not going to link the claims, they are all rwnj sites. But you can find them with a simple search.

(182,879 posts)CNN) Special counsel John Durham's investigation into the origins of the FBI's Russia probe cost about $3.8 million over its first year in operation, according to reports released by the Justice Department.
The reports, including one released Wednesday, show Durham's team spent more than $2.8 million on travel, salaries, benefits, IT services and litigative support from October 2020 through September 2021. Other parts of the Justice Department that supported the special counsel's office spent nearly $1 million in that time frame.

(32,748 posts)A federal jury acquitted Sussmann, a former federal prosecutor and prominent cybersecurity attorney, after about six hours hours of deliberations. The jury was not convinced by arguments from Special Counsel John Durham that Sussmann lied during a September 2016 meeting with the general counsel of the FBI, James Baker.
Durham alleged that Sussmann claimed not to be representing any particular client in the meeting when he was actually acting on behalf of both Hillary Clintons 2016 presidential campaign and a cybersecurity executive, Rodney Joffe, who commissioned research on Trumps ties to Russia.
The verdict brings a measure of redemption for Sussmann, who cultivated a reputation as a thoughtful and balanced cybersecurity attorney, but who has been pilloried in right-wing media as a partisan operative who worked with the Clinton campaign in an attempt to degenerate Trump. Sussmann, who worked on cybercrime, privacy and government surveillance issues, resigned from Perkins Coie after being indicted last September.

It's hard to believe that the FBI is still pursuing these charges. Don't they have their hands full investigating all those criminals and insurgents in the Chump administration? This one is ancient history.

Whether it's Trump facing no consequences for leading an insurrection against the United States, or Michael Sussman getting acquitted of something complicated that I don't understand that doesn't seem to be illegal, terrible criminals on both sides are getting off easy.
