When it comes to Trumps inner circle, what charges do you think Garland will pursue?

This is a massive investigation that is going to rock our country. If I had to guess I think Garland will pursue charges that are more easily proved. Charges like, election fraud, the fake electors for example.

Obstruction of justice, people who withhold, destroy, burn evidence. There is a good chance that is going to happen.

And of course, Obstructing congress. That one should be fairly easy to prove.

This investigation is so widespread it may be difficult to charge everyone with something like seditious conspiracy. You would have to charge half of the Republican Party.

I am just guessing of course.

And for some, seditious conspiracy.

There may be other incidental charges along the way, such as perjury or lying to Congress/FBI and, of course, contempt.

We know most of them are guilty, we have seen some of the evidence and we can connect dots.

I would guess the political will is not there to indict most of them.

A few token GOP will be indicted, but juries may let them off.

charge, when possible. Save evidence ammunition for future charges.

No telling what they might be at this point, or who will be charged with what, but so far he's got a pretty good record of making his charges stick. The only thing I would dare speculating on is that some of the charges may be pretty surprising, even to the would be defendants.

I believe the overall mindset and hope is that voters will hold the key criminals accountable by rejecting them at the polls. And this effect is best achieved by the Congressional investigation because it will expose the truth in stark and clear terms while not necessarily holding anyone directly accountable per se. The thinking being "democracy wins" in the end if we can nationally recognize the truth and repudiate rather than incarcerate the scoundrels, that renunciation is better than punishment in healing the nation.

I don't buy the underlying thinking myself. I don't trust the voters' ability to recognize the truth, and the criminal party will no doubt do anything to steal the vote if needed. I’m having a hard time believing right now that "repudiation and renunciation" is not the preferred and active strategy.

I hope I'm wrong.

Going after the inner circle would take a boldness that I haven't seen in the Democratic Party for a very long time.
