10. Made me think of my boarding school, they were obsessed with fire precautions

There were "fire ropes" by every window in the dorm and not only were there regular fire drills, but "plant and property" came in and inspected random rooms in the dorm since there was a limit on wall posters. And this was a brick building, built in 1912. It wasn't until a couple of decades later that we found out the reason - apparently there had been a fire in the '40s or '50s and one girl didn't make it out. That was a deep dark secret until her then-roommate finally spoke out. She had probably been warned back in the day.
