BloombergTraveling to Saudi Arabia would mean Biden would almost inevitably meet its effective ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, whom the US president blames for the 2018 murder of a US-based columnist in the kingdoms Istanbul consulate.

The war ended before the cases reached the Supreme Court and the law expired. When Truman tried to seize the steel industry in the Korean war the Supreme Court said it was illegal in Youngstown Sheet & Tube v. Sawyer.

(32,028 posts)President Biden is planning to visit Saudi Arabia, a remarkable departure from his vow as a presidential candidate to treat the country as a pariah state, according to three administration officials who requested anonymity to share details of a trip not yet announced.
The presidents trip to Riyadh follows broader efforts by his administration to build ties with the oil-rich nation to reduce the price of gas in the United States, which has skyrocketed in recent months.
The stop in Saudi Arabia is expected to be added to Bidens overseas trip later this month, when he will travel to Israel, Germany and Spain, the officials said.
