(10,053 posts)When I lived in Thailand 20 years ago, we refused to travel to Myanmar or Burma which it was known as. I refuse to this day to call it Myanmar, which is the name the junta changed it to.

(10,053 posts)It is still a country I would have loved to travel but I did not because of the Junta, I refused to give them any of my money. I met many Burmese people while in Thailand but other than go to one Island casino for a passport run, which was operated by Thais, I never travelled the country.

(111,103 posts)The one criticism of Biden that may have some merit is that he is stuck in the world of the Senate of the 1990's. He believes he can work with some Republicans and some things can be accomplished in a bi-partisan fashion. I don't think that world exists anymore.
