(22,369 posts)Moms for Liberty has challenged 41 books in Brevard libraries, saying the books contain sexual content not meant for children. The chapters decision to challenge "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut sparked outrage from teachers and community members; the chapter said some of the books it has challenged may be appropriate for some high school students, but the district should reevaluate which age levels access the challenged works.

If they're 15 or 16, these books are geared toward that age, Tritt said. You could be seventh or eighth grade and read, Are You There, God? Its Me, Margaret, But I wanted to have parents there so there will be supervision.
Tritt will focus on a few books that the Brevard chapter of Moms for Liberty challenged, plus a few he thinks are soon to follow. "Slaughterhouse-Five" will be the main focus, he said. He will also seek out copies of "Forever" by Judy Blume, "Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky, "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini, "All Boys Arent Blue" by George Matthew Johnson and "This Book is Gay" by Juno Dawson.
Two graphic novels, "Genderqueer: A Memoir" by Maia Kobabe and "Maus" by Art Spiegelman, are also included. "Genderqueer" is a memoir of Kobabes reckoning with gender and sexuality that Brevard Public Schools removed from libraries in October because it included sexual illustrations. "Maus" is a Pulitzer-winning graphic novel retelling the authors parents accounts of surviving The Holocaust; it was removed from classrooms by a Tennessee school board in January for including swear words and a drawing of breasts.

(82,849 posts)If you spent more time reading books than banning books, you wouldn't be so easily outsmarted. But then, you might not want to ban books if you were even a little smarter. That's quite the conundrum.
Also, you know that if you fundraise off your humiliation, you'll be great big hypocrites.

The Hispanic cultures are being indoctrinated to believe that Democrats equal socialist/Communist movements. Hispanic voters in Florida are turning to republican candidates more and more.
