I dropped them a polite e-mail asking why.

(14,061 posts)WTTV. This afflliate is owned by something called Nextstar. It strikes me as Sinclair Broadcasting Lite, but after a Wiki search, Im not quite sure what it is. They have another syndicated news show called News Night, which strikes me as very Fox-like no spin, just the facts, allows me to make up my own mind. Fox buzzwords.

(90,714 posts)This was a good long time ago, but there was one topic that I thought their lead anchor was very wrong about. * It took awhile to have an effect, but I made it my mission to call every single time that dimwit held forth on abortion, and eventually she changed her presentation. I was polite, and chock-full of real facts.
* Best example: the local Planned Parenthood was besieged with protestors, and she, the anchor, interviewed one of the protestors but none of the PP defenders. So far okay, but her comment to the protestor was a gooey-voiced, So what you are saying is they are killing little babies?

(15,286 posts)That's the case here. The CBS station is KDKA, but it has a sister station that has its own programming, but can be used to show regular CBS shows if KDKA isn't available.

(14,061 posts)It does share news staff with the local Fox affiliate. All I know is it shows CBS programming, including news shows, so I was surprised that it didnt show the address.
As I said, I sent an email. Not expecting an answer.

(14,061 posts)Far western Indiana is on Central time and cities there have their own stations.
Im thinking this probably has to do with their ownership. Im getting a very Sinclair Broadcasting-ish vibe here. Reminds me of when a Sinclair-owned station in my hometown showed the John Kerry swiftboating bullshit. I called to complain and was told they were just following orders from on high.

(33,164 posts)My non-discerning sibling calls the CBS affiliate here stupid fox. I tried to stomach it one evening and its a correct assessment. Imagine if you will a station run by the most tantrum prone two-year-olds with a fascist agenda and you would be in the ballpark. Ive never seen anything like it. Whats even more debilitating is that it carries over into their choices of programming and ads beyond the newzes. I swear they have been waiting breathlessly to break the Hunter Biden thing wide open for months.
It makes the CW look like PBS.
Maybe it is the start of TFGs long promised branded media giant.

(3,341 posts)CBS, NBC and ABC each have rider-channels, at least in major markets. Last night CBS played the address on its rider channel and played the scheduled broadcast on its major broadcast channel (or vice-versa).
