Just thinking out loud. Kids can be very effective public opinion leaders

Kids got serious smoking laws passed. It wasn't immediate, but it was effective.

Who remembers kids telling Mom and Dad not to smoke? That's kind of where it started.

Guns are a more spectacular threat to them. They can relate to classrooms on lockdown. They can imagine deranged shooters threatening their friends. They can imagine worse.

If adults start speaking more freely about gun control, I can imagine kids picking up the chorus, even in "gun country".

Like I said. Thinking out loud . . . .
