Is this a government that *won't* stop the carnage or *can't* stop the carnage?

And as long as Republicans are part of the two-party system and as long as "but we need 60 votes to do anything", then yes, I will say "government", thanks.

Starting to make me think though, there have to be other things they won't/can't stop that aren't carnage-based.

Like a movement to just stop paying medical bills or student loans for example? A movement against the very idea of cheap labor?

1. We don't need 60 votes...we need more Democrats period. All movements will get us

is a big fat zero. this is not 1970. We need to run on Roe and contraception and in areas that we can gun control. Hold the house and elect more Democrats to the Senate. This is our only way out...sure more fun to march around and protest but it won't be effective.

...who is responsible for all the children dying. There is no need to be afraid of the NRA. Democrats need to be more aggressive on this issue when they run for an office. If the voters still choose the "child-killers", then it is they that should look in the mirror.

2. Won't stop it. They can quickly pass unpopular laws which benefit them.

And we are told to get over it.

Of course they will not pass laws that help the American people like the ones you mention.

The GOP is not interested in leadership, American lives, quality of life. They represent themselves and work for their own power and wealth.

I wonder if any news organization has ever thought of breaking down the tens of thousands of deceased over the last 20 years by political party? Because, you know, if you live behind castle walls with moated grounds it really doesn't happen to you at all.

5. Can someone please tell POTUS Joe the power of Executive Orders?

Please?

He needs to swap from 'This is terrible! Someone needs to do something!' to 'This is terrible! I'm going to do something about it!'

executive orders cannot make up laws out of wholecloth. If that was the case the president would be a monarch.

The only thing an EO can do is tell agencies how to prioritize the enforcement of already existing laws or clarify how to interpret them.

...it was Putin or Russia causing the slaughter of thousands of Americans in this country with guns and the Republicans sided with Putin?

...what would we do?

...nothing?

...declare Martial Law?

...use the Defense Authorization Act some way?

...use an executive order directing the military into action?

...ignore the Constitution until the crisis ends?

...turn a blind eye and accept the slaughter?

...a supreme one time said the Constitution wasn't a suicide pact...

...we need to stop acting like it is...

so the polls say, the true test is voting and voting out the ones who deny such preventive measures.

It will be harder for POC to vote since the GQP alonwith the the US SC 6 juctices and other judges across the board are in favor of voter suppression and gerrymandering, that is why the votes need to come out in full and complete force and overwhelm these assholes.

the fact that it is THE REPUBLICANS who are the problem. When you say "government" you are saying that Democrats are also unwilling to "stop the carnage" which is untrue.
