Man who killed 2 outside Iowa church faced harassment case
A man who fatally shot two women before killing himself in the parking lot of an Iowa church had been romantically involved with one of the women and faced a court hearing next week on a charge of harassing her, investigators said Friday.
Whitlatch who had a long history with law enforcement involving women was arrested May 31 on counts of harassment and impersonating a police officer.
A search of Whitlatchs truck following the shooting turned up ammunition and a receipt showing he bought the ammunition an hour before the shooting, Fitzgerald said. A search warrant executed at Whitlatchs home also turned up an AR-15-style rifle, which was not used in the shooting.

I know this wasn't a "mass" shooting, but we really can't do anything about this? If you get arrested for assault, harassment, stalking, etc, you should go on a list that prevents you from buying guns or ammo. And a condition of the release should be that the police confiscate all your registered guns and search for any that aren't, and if they find any, back to jail you go. If you try to buy guns or ammo, back to jail you go. Conviction of these types of crimes or other violent crimes gets you barred from gun ownership for life.

Jeff Reinitz Nov 1, 2021 Updated Dec 22, 2021
CEDAR FALLS A Boone man has been arrested for allegedly sticking his hand down a womans pants at a Cedar Falls bar in October.
Johnathan Lee Whitlatch, 32, was arrested Monday for assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. He has been released from jail pending trial.
Authorities allege Whitlatch forcefully placed his right hand down the pants of a woman twice while they were at Deringers Public Parlor on Main Street on Oct. 21. The woman later went to police, and investigators found the incident was captured on a security camera, according to court records.

Why the GOP/NRA want to protect these people's ability to own a gun, I don't know. Maybe they think any kind of gun law will be a slippery slope toward repealing the second ammendment?

Snip...the Gun Violence Archive define mass shootings as involving "four or more shot (injured or killed) in a single incident, at the same general time and location, not including the shooter".
