(32,611 posts)Every time I see her I think about the fact that she spent more time in the military than all the Trump generations combined.

(34,075 posts)Paddington: Thank you for having me. I do hope youre having a lovely Jubilee.
Queen: Tea?
Paddington: Oh yes, please!
(Butler clears throat as Paddington keeps chugging down the tea.)
Paddington: (realizing the error of his ways) Oh. Terribly sorry.
Queen: (after the last drips from the pot fall into her cup) Never mind.
Paddington: (mumbles after putting paw down on a dessert) Oh dear. (After a moment) Perhaps youd like a marmalade sandwich. I always keep one for emergencies.
Queen: So do I. I keep mine in here. (Lifts sandwich from her purse.) (Paddington gasps.) (She drops it back into purse.) For later.
Butler: The partys about to start, Your Majesty.
Paddington: (Tips hat) Happy Jubilee, Maam. And thank you
for everything.
Queen: Thats very kind.
(The crowd begins clapping in a bum-bum-bum/bum-bum-bum rhythm. The Queen taps out the rhythm using her spoon on her teacup; Paddington joins her in doing the same.

(17,989 posts)They now have hearing aids that are hooked up to your TV. Many Insurance companies now pay for them and a bill was passed for buying them OTC, cost much less. I was shocked when mine were connected. Sound on TV turned down by half. I have people asking me to turn the TV up,just a little.

How many kids can say their great-great-grandmother knows Paddington Bear on a personal basis, and occasionally has tea with him?

(1,832 posts)Though I enjoyed the video, I hope her castle soon get nationalized and her enormous wealth spread among the peasants, whose work her family so grossly has enriched themselves by for generations. Take a hint from France, and make a republic!

(16,541 posts)As far as I'm concerned, what the UK decides to do with its royal family or the monarchy in general is up to the UK. I'm not British (although one set of my grandparent were), so I don't get a vote, nor do I want one.

(32,611 posts)a couple of my great grandfathers and incarcerated my great grandmothers and took their property more than 400 years ago but I don't. The Brits need the monarchy to keep tourism alive.

(1,832 posts)... but any statistic are proving them very wrong. There is absolutely no measurably effect of putting our Queen in front of an effort to sell more stuff to another country. The soon coming kings younger brother is now permanently living in France, with the main job to front Danish arms sales - with very little success. Even though the selected Danish target for selling weapons to is failed states like Pakistan, and until recently Belarus and Russia...
Though I am all for doing it for the tourists, but since the Danish monarchy is very corrupt, they should be fully funded directly by them. They could pose in front of the castle with a tin cup, begging for money.

But as to the rest
"Out on your ass!"
I can't stand to hear them talk about the "working royals." What a joke! Their work consists of attending garden parties, charity events, various teas, receptions, horse races, dog shows and smiling. For that they are paid millions each year out of of the UK treasury. And, face facts, Elizabeth's level and above are all inbred. Their progenitors include murderers, thieves, baby-killers, traitors, "kings" beheading their wives, torturing their brothers, and starving their nephews.
They snubbed Harry and Meghan who didn't have to go to London at all, but did so to honor Harry's grandmother. "No senior "royal" attended the birthday party for Lilibet. Not the Queen, and not even Louis. No. Just the kids of "non-working royals."
What a pretentious bunch of privileged pricks! I hope Harry and Meghan NEVER go back, except for Grannie's funeral, if then. The British monarchy will be on very shaky ground when she goes. Charles the Human Tampon, Camilla the Rottweiler, William the Philanderer, and Kate, poor Kate who will be screwed around on and pretend to like it. The UK may keep the monarchy only if the "royals" pay their own way. It's pretty clear that once she dies, Scotland is going for independence. That will be just the beginning of the crumbling of a very sick system.
My sincerest hope is that Harry does write that book the "royals" are so afraid of.
