Gen. Mark Hertling: Anyone suggesting Ukraine give up any inch of their sovereign territory is

violating our US national values.

It isn't just his opinion.

Note: This is from a very long thread posted just a little while ago by Tomconroy (thanks, Tom!), whose thread is at https://democraticunderground.com/100216765568 -- and I want to direct people to that thread to read and comment on the entire 29-tweet thread Gen. Hertling posted.

But I was particularly struck by that statement in Hertling's last tweet, and I wanted to highlight it in a separate OP.

What's the worst that could happen if Germany takes the Saarland? The Sudetenland? Half of Poland? Hitler is rational and reasonable, and he only wants land that used to make up Greater Germany

Oh, excuse me. I just woke up from an 80 year long nap. What's happening today?

Humiliate pootie??

Kids died due to the injuries they endured while being raped multiple times. Why aren’t macron and anyone else calling for Ukraine to cede land talking about this..and the other war crimes??!!

The hell Ukraine has gone thru these past 100+ days says they mean to keep their country whole. And they should. Putin had no right to invade n to appease him will only enable him for more land grabs. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦

I would go further. It’s time for NATO to step up and support every Ukrainian effort with planes and whatever weapons are necessary to end this war. It is inhumane to force Ukraine to keep defending its territory while citizens are being murdered by the thousands for no good reason.

I think Biden has done an amazing job of pulling NATO leaders together (especially after Trump tried to alienate every one of them), but I disagree with him on the latest condition that Ukraine cannot use the missiles being sent to target Russia. Why not? Russia is blasting the hell out of Ukraine, some of it from within Russian space, but they’re not allowed to try to take out the source of the missile launches because they’re IN Russia! I hope Ukraine ignores this condition. Russia attacked them—and if they want to launch an attack against the Russian Army in Russian territory, do it. Russia is the illegitimate player here, not Ukraine.

The US needs to organize an all volunteer squadron of qualified A10 pilots with donated planes on the model of the WWII Flying Tigers for service in Ukraine. The AF wants to get rid of them.
