What will be the Trump and Republican response to the hearings?

First of all, they will try to minimize it. No one wants to take responsibility for a criminal act.

They will use the right-wing media sites and the "fake news" outlets to spread their message. It is what they do well.

They will say it was not as bad as the "Democrat riots" in Portland the past summer.

It is a hoax and a witch hunt because they hate Donald Trump.

Joe Biden is a spectacular failure and the Democrats will say or do anything to try and stay relevant for the next election.

They have their lies and propaganda ready to go.

They will admit nothing. They will blame everything on the Democrats. It was not an "insurrection" - it was a peaceful march that got out of hand.

In the final analysis, the people will have to make a decision. Are they going to believe Donald Trump and the Republicans or their own lying eyes?

... on line because "the other side" is too political. And they will also bring out this chestnut, "We
are here to work for the American people and hearings like this stops us from doing the work that
our constituencies sent us here to do."

All we need to do is keep repeating this one simple truth and that is on 1/6/21 and the time leading
up to the republicans and Donald Trump tried to violently overthrow America and its Constitution.

4. Hopefully the Dems have an approach that takes this into account.

For example, show a little something that would normally be considered damning about Trump on the first day. There should be no shortage of those things, so just a first volley should be enough.

Then, wait for the Republican media to go nuts attacking the committee. Wait until they get their whole sorry, pitifully self-disgracing response unloaded. Wait until we see the whites of their eyes. Wait until we know what lies and postures they adopt. Then start releasing daily tidal waves of damning facts.

WE need to keep hammering home that they are all seditionist criminals. WE need to state it in the most definitive terms: it's a conspiracy to overthrow a legally elected government and it is a crime. Full stop.

And then we need to press Garland to indict all the motherfuckers.

Most people I know don't pay much attention to politics and public policy. We need them to think before they vote.

We also need to energize the Democrat who may be an occasional or unreliable voter.

And get people "fired up" enough to go out, register, and vote.
