Obama, Romney And Canada: Poll Gives Incumbent 7-To-1 Edge North Of The Border

A new poll has found Canadians prefer Barack Obama to Mitt Romney by a seven-to-one margin.

The Angus Reid survey is just one of a series of recent polls to find that were Obama facing Canadian voters, he would likely win a landslide victory.

Asked whom they would vote for if allowed to participate in the U.S. election, 72 per cent of Canadians said they would cast a ballot for Obama, while 10 per cent chose Romney. Eighteen per cent of respondents were unsure.

Results were similar in the United Kingdom, with 62 per cent voting for Obama and 6 per cent for Romney. Thirty-two per cent were unsure.

They can't stand Mittens. People all over the world want Obama as U.S. President. They can't vote here but they do have a preference since it affects worldwide affairs. They prefer Obama.

And she's a liberal, not labor, dislikes Julia Gillard. But says if she lived in the US she'd be a Democrat. So I am thinking even conservatives in other countries are more like Democrats here. Republicans here are just off the right cliff in comparison to the rest of the world.

balanced about approaches to solving their nation's problems.

Better health care for all Canadians, as a whole, at much less cost per patient.

Stronger gun control, (and yes, people can go hunting).

Less crime, less homelessness, reasonable welfare and unemployment systems.

A solid system of immigration favoring people with more skills and education.

No banks failed in Canada, and their economy suffered less shock as a result of the Bush-created worldwide recession.

No nation is perfect, of course, but we could learn a lot from Canada.

seeing as both countries elected Conservatives due to the multi-party system. As a Canadian I can speak to our results which was 60% of Canadians voted against the Cons here but because the vote was split between 4 parties on the left, we now have our own Romney in power here.

Working toward privatizing healthcare, changing the retirement age and were halfway toward removing banking regulations before the crash and, be assured, will be working toward that goal again as soon as they can.

with multiple parties. I have to admit when it was the right that was splintered here, I thought the multi-party system was awesome because it meant the center-left party, the Liberals retained power. Now that it is the left that is splintered 4 ways and the right reunited under one party, it sucks because it has kept the Cons in power, first as a minority and now as a majority government.

I would suspect that if we are being monitored from afar by extra-terrestrial intelligent life, they depise Romney, too, even the ones from Kolob.

The Federal Gov't right now is run by the Conservative party. (Republicans = Conservatives)

Where I live (Province) Conservatives have been in power for over 30 years here, yet everyone I talk to that

I know happens to vote Conservative, all hope President Obama gets in. What's that say for Romney and the route the Republican party has gone? A lot IMO!!!

I do agree with ones that have posted that the Conservatives here are trying their best to do away with healthcare and go the same route as the USA. They don't dare come out and say that though, because that would be political suicide for them. (Canadians love their healthcare!!)

They use other tactics. example--- The hospitals open less operating rooms so that there is a long waiting line, this happens because the Conservative gov'ts give them less and less money to do so. Trying to show the people that this is not working and it would be more efficient if we went the American way.

When you see or talk to Canucks that have gone South to have their surgeries done, this is why. Now I should clarify this is for hip and knee surgeries etc. not emergency ones. They are wealthy people that can afford to do it and don't want to wait their turn and IMO that is fine!! Lessens the waiting list for those that can't afford to do so. Healthcare does not pay or reimburse people from here that do this, by the way.

If it is an emergency (life or death) then you are in surgery like right now!!!
