New York TimesThe election had not even been called for Joseph R. Biden Jr., but as Mr. Kushner later told the story to aides and associates, the White Houses young power couple felt no need to wait for the official results. They saw which way the votes were going and understood that, barring some unforeseen surprise, the president had lost his bid for a second term. Even if he refused to accept it himself.
No matter how vociferously Mr. Trump claimed otherwise, neither Mr. Kushner nor Ivanka Trump believed then or later that the election had been stolen, according to people close to them. While the president spent the hours and days after the polls closed complaining about imagined fraud in battleground states and plotting a strategy to hold on to power, his daughter and son-in-law were already washing their hands of the Trump presidency.
Their decision to move on opened a vacuum around the president that was filled by conspiracy theorists like Rudolph W. Giuliani and Sidney Powell, who relayed to Mr. Trump farcically false stories of dead voters, stuffed ballot boxes, corrupted voting machines and foreign plots. Concluding that the president would not listen even to family members urging him to accept the results, Mr. Kushner told Mr. Trump that he would not be involved if Mr. Giuliani were in charge, according to people he confided in, effectively ceding the field to those who would try to overturn the election.
Mr. Kushners decision to withdraw from the most consequential moment of the Trump presidency left few effective counterweights to the plotters seeking to subvert the will of the voters to hang on to power. While the presidents son-in-law had arguably been the most influential adviser to the president through four years, weighing in at times and carefully cultivating his reputation, he chose at that pivotal moment to focus instead on his personal project of Middle East diplomacy. He returned to the region to meet with figures who would also be helpful to him later in making money after leaving the White House. It was the final act in the myth that Mr. Kushner would be the moderating force on a president who resisted moderation.

(19,114 posts)Jared will be right back there with his hand out, looking to grift billion more from the American taxpayers.
Trump has never been more loved by those around him and the GOP than he is right now. Stories to the contrary are wishful thinking by people who can't fathom that we could lose our Democracy.

Articles like this never mention that Jared Kushner provided the information Mr Bonesaw used to murder his political opposition, including Jamal Khashoggi.

(2,290 posts)The corruption of Jared -- just like the rest of his family's -- knows no bounds. He knew that if he distanced himself he could make more money from the Suadis and other criminals he was already working with.
He freed up time to complete his grifts and then hoped to garner a pardon to cover him for any criminality which could wait until the last days of the presidency.
It was -- as everything about all of these scumbags is -- about greed and self-preservation.

(16,937 posts)his 'move away' had nothing to do with not wanting to be a part of the 'stolen election' scam - he was setting himself up to further his own ambition and lines to more money.
No 'Patriotic honor' there!

Government watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) ran the numbers, and its analysis found that while working in the White House, the former first daughter and son-in-law reported between $172 million and an astonishing $640 millionor 457,142 $1,400 stimulus checksin outside income. (If were calculating based on the $1,200 checks Americans got last springsome of which may have been held up because Donald Trump insisted on putting his name on themthe figure climbs to 533,333.) When Javanka first started working as senior advisers to the president, they announced they wouldnt be taking salaries, seemingly in the hopes of casting themselves as selfless public servants. But, of course, $18,000-a-month Kalorama mansions dont rent themselves, and $30 million plots of land in areas subtly dubbed Billionaires Bunker dont buy themselves either. So the couple had to find sources of income elsewhere and luckily for this boot-strapping duo, they did.

BTW Jared was busy post election too. A 2 billion deal with MBS and the Saudis and he somehow got
20 million vaccine doses for C-19 on the way out the door to sell to his rich friends.
I have no doubt that Jared and maybe even Ivanka would sell out TFG in a heartbeat if it got them out of trouble.
