So: did the Committee already fail in its mission?
You asked that question yesterday morning and perhaps youve received your answer.
As a point of personal privilege I dont think these people should be allowed to get away with this stuff one morning to another. This isnt a baseball commentator discussing the relative strengths and weaknesses of his or her team based upon how well the game turned out the night before , this is life and death for this democracy.

(6,699 posts)she and joe are just two of DOZENS of soulless trash that would sell their own mother for a ratings bump.
No ethical journalistic blood in the veins. Just sitting on their stool to stir "news" for personal profit.
fox was clearly implicated in their fawning boot licking...but DOZENS of other unscrupulous bottom feeders are just as qualified to join fox...if the price was right.
Haven't been able to stomach those two clowns on tv, video or elsewhere. They are equivalent to listening to lipstick-on-a-pig ramble on.
Trash.

(25,572 posts)Your point is taken, but I have to tell you that the act of turning a television off in my opinion is not going to alter the manner in which these people cover events. Public commentary and criticism, followed by groundswells of disapproval often cause people to think twice about saying stupid stuff in the media.

(94,679 posts)Mika's comment yesterday ("will it make a difference" was a perfectly reasonable question to raise. Far too many people seem uncomfortable hearing points of view they don't agree with.

(6,399 posts)She's certainly not my favorite just from her absolute lack of grasping popular culture - you can't interpret the news without understanding the landscape in which it takes place in and is a reflection of.
I've continually found this program in particular useful for understanding how a lot of long-time conservatives have tried to deal with the rise of not just trump but the fascism and more coming from that side. Understanding how they're working through it, pushing against it, and simply reporting and talking about it provides for ways to try and break through with others that aren't.

As for the thing attributed to Mika, you heard that up and down the line from *every* MSNBC pundit/talking head yesterday. And beyond. You hear that before practically any big event like this in the past six years.
As to your last piece, I look forward to seeing how you would like to regulate opinion shows going forward.

(25,572 posts)I said nothing about regulating shows, I suppose Im no longer permitted to question the motivation of any of the favorite sons and daughters on the air.

That pretty much sounds like regulating things.
