House Democrats relent to GOP demands and move Supreme Court security bill

(CNN)Speaker Nancy Pelosi informed her leadership team that the House would pass a Senate bill to bolster security for Supreme Court justices, according to a person who heard her remarks, a move that would end an increasingly acrimonious standoff with Republicans over the issue.

The House plans to pass the bill on Tuesday, according to another source familiar with the matter.

Even though the Senate passed a bill last month with the consent of all 100 senators to increase security for justices and their families, House Democrats had not taken up the bill. Instead, Democrats had sought to change the bill to include security for Supreme Court clerks and staff.

Republicans have balked at those changes -- and demanded that the Senate bill be adopted immediately, something they say has grown more urgent since a man was arrested last week near the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh and charged with attempting to murder a US judge. And on Monday, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell vowed to block the House bill if it came to the Senate.

Supreme Court Justice before you pass a bill that was spurred by the murder of 19 defenseless children and 10 mostly senior citizens the week before that is a bad look. People aren't going to forget that.

Democratic leadership always seems to be painted into a corner.

How about proposing

• A bill that eliminates the capital gains tax, doubles oil and gas subsidies, AND BANS ASSAULT WEAPONS.
LET THE BASTARDS VOTE IT DOWN.

• A bill that removes federal gas taxes, legalizes open carry without a license, AND GUARANTEES REPODUCTIVE RIGHTS.
LET THE BASTARDS VOTE IT DOWN.

• A bill that pardons all Jan 6 participants, outlaws (pick a religion), AND GUARANTEES VOTING RIGHTS.
LET THE BASTARDS VOTE IT DOWN.

• And so on.

How can we let bozos with the emotional and mental maturity of a 4 year-old outfox us? (they're an insult to 4-year olds)

But I would guess the White House wanted something passed and the issue put behind us.

Fine. Then protect women's reproductive freedom along with it. Or at least f*cking voting rights. And you've got it.

Otherwise, McTurdle & Co. may proceed with self-fornication. As OUR rights go, so goes the brethrens'......

Roe is a done deal in Red states. Too bad women and young girls will die, be forced to possibly have a rapists baby, or their Dad's or uncle's baby if they are the victim of incest. Doesn't matter, as long as the sexual assaulter/liar overturning Roe is SAFE and comfy though, right Scary is that until or unless Dems get a cushion in the Senate and House, and if they can win the Presidency in 2024, no telling how many women/young girls and women with Ectopic pregnancies will HAVE to die because that's what the GQP WANTS. That's almost 3 years of DEATH to have to put up with, but I guess somebody has to die for the GQP to be happy .....
