Anyone else getting (or already have) a bad feeling about Summer 2022?

Lot of stuff is going down:

SCOTUS Roe v Wade decision

Inflation and (probable) recession.

Gas prices

January 6th Hearings

COVID mutations

Gun violence

Climate crisis: wildfire and water rationing

Mid-term campaigning

Punctuated with some of the negatives you listed.

Just read today that my area (Vancouver Island) is expected to have a mild, rainier than usual summer- that’s a relief from the two deadly heat domes we had last summer.

And, my first grandchild was just born last month, so on the whole, things aren’t too bad despite an ongoing global pandemic and fascist attempts to dismantle democracy…

When you look at what we mostly have survived over the previous couple years, that list doesn’t seem quite so scary. I think we can do this. Stay active, stay engaged, VOTE (Every. Single. Time.) FIGHT THE FASCISTS! Engage with those who are reachable (don’t waste your breath with the hardcore MAGAats).

I still need to have hope.

We had a very, very dry winter. The hills just look like gasoline cans to me at this point.

Mix in it has been relentlessly windy.

I'm fully prepared for things to be as bad as they were two summers ago.

Lift your feet and just go where the river is taking you anyway. If you try to stand up, you might get your foot stuck and the river will just push your face into the water and you'll drown. Once you pass the the rapids, you can try to swim over to the bank where you can stand and walk away.

We've fallen out of the boat. Pick up your feet and just float for a while.

The Year of the Jackpot. The premise was a guy following a number of trend lines: economic, political, climate, social etc. He had graphed them all out, and the were all going to peak at the same time.

As that time grew near, society became nuttier and nuttier. I won’t reveal the culmination, but I hope he wasn’t prophetic 70 years ago. It does seem eerily similar, however.

immigration surges. Remember all those people from Central & S. America are bring driven off their tribal lands, for privatization and for profit of the multinational corporations, then the people are sent off to become cheap labor. The official story is to blame drug cartels.

Notice, there is no increase in the federal minimum wage, Just like in 72 Oil embargo, claim wage inflation will destroy us as if the price gouging by the energy men.
