Lofgren confirms members were evacuated thru tunnels shown in Loudermilk tour video

They were definitely evacuated up the stairwell the guy is taking pictures of in that footage. No question about it

Jan 6 Committee Member Rep. Zoe Lofgren confirms congressional members were evacuated through the underground tunnels of the Capitol on January 6. She also confirms these are the same tunnels Rep. Barry Loudermilk’s tour guest was videotaping on January 5.

Fritschner worked for Rep. Beyer.

I know exactly where this insurrectionist was taking photos — the staircase he photographed was the one I walked up to the impeachment hearings — and there is nothing of interest to a “normal tourist” in those areas. @RepLoudermilk, will you continue to lie about your tour?

Surveillance footage shows a tour led by Loudermilk to areas in the House Office Buildings, as well as the entrances to Capitol tunnels.

Individuals on the tour photographed/recorded areas not typically of interest to tourists: hallways, staircases and security checkpoints.

A tour when they weren't allowed due to the pandemic.

Taking videos of a staircase, tunnels, and security checkpoints.

One of the people from the tour shows up at the Capitol attack the next day.

Laudermilk denies giving a tour. When videos prove that he did, he says he was just showing some people around the offices on their first trip to DC. Then says they were just taking pictures of an eagle sconce on a stairway wall. Just happens to be a stairway going to House chambers, the day before a mob of insurrectionists attacked, looking for House members.

But nothing suspicious. Sure.

Lofgren: They took video of the tunnel from the Rayburn building to the capitol. That was the same tunnel the next day I was evacuated from… they took video of the stairwell that lead into the ways and means committee room, where 100 or so members of congress were sheltered in

against the attackers that gave Congress time to evacuate before the mob could gett access to the tunnels and stairs.

If not for the heroic hand to hand combat of the officers, the outcome of J6 might have been very different.

But it is becoming clear that some of the attackers had advance knowledge of which windows to go to and where people's offices are. Also that they had inside help.

I hope there is enough concrete evidence for a conviction in court of the insiders who abetted the coup attempt.

There's got to be some charges for aiding and abetting insurrection against the United States.

claims that there was nothing suspicious about these tours and that there was no evidence of reconnaissance. How in the world could he miss it? How could he write a letter to the committee, sign it, send it, and figure there's no problem? Maybe it's unfair of me, but I have serious doubts about this guy.

The Chief at the time of the insurrection was Steven Sund who resigned the day after Jan. 6, 2021.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=16804157

Manger was selected 7 months later in July 2021 (taking over for Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman) - https://www.cbsnews.com/news/thomas-manger-capitol-police-chief/

Could be a pile of bad apples in the higher ranks in there feeding him bad info about the protocols in there.

Thanks for the links. But how much training does it take to watch the video and see the obvious? Did Manger have others do it for him, others who misled him about the contents of the security video? Did he bother to watch any of it himself? Either way, there's egg on his face now.

then he probably had an underling look at it... AND as a note - I know in my federal building, there was a group who maintained and monitored the building indoor and exterior cameras (and maintained the A/V recordings) and was responsible for other "mechanical" security functions of the building (i.e., building door/parking lot gate access cards that were programmed by them and were replaced as needed) and was probably also responsible for the magnetometers. Ours were a mix of contractors and civil service employees and expect the same was the case in the Capitol building.

I would think that although he is a LEO, someone like that is not necessarily an "expert" and given his previous positions in VA and MD before retiring and then "un-retiring" to take that job, IMHO, he wouldn't really have the length of time "in-service" in the Capitol to make a definitive determination. Congress is such a unique entity.

I know that during one of my trips down to D.C. many years ago when I was at a conference, I saw the process of getting in there and being able to actually sit in the gallery to observe the proceedings (you can't bring anything up there - they had little lockers to store personal items). You had to get a "pass" from your House member's office (for the House side) or Senate member's office (for the Senate side) and for my getting to my House member's office in one of the other buildings outside of the Capitol, I had been directed to use the tunnels, and that was a labyrinth experience in itself, including seeing the little shuttles down there that ferried members from their office buildings to the main Capitol building.

After I got to the tiny "closet-sized" office of my member (at the time Bill Gray, who I think had just been made the Majority Whip), I returned to the Capitol from the outside/street level and eventually got up to the gallery to see what was probably a "Special Orders" session of the House, where members can stand up in there and give oral remarks "for the record" and generally no one else is in there.
